1The statistic cited was based on the Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey conducted in 2014. The 2014 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey was conducted among a nationally representative sample of 2682 males and females 18 years of age or older. That sample was collected using an email invitation and an online survey. The 2014 survey was conducted anonymously by independent marketing performance specialist Ebiquity on November 30, 2014 and has an overall margin of error of +/- 1.9%, at the 95% level of confidence.
Please note that due to a change in research vendors we've made an adjustment in our research methodology for this survey. The new methodology includes more survey participants and a spending extrapolation based on average consumer expenditure.
